Davy's Last Ride is both exciting and intense. You will find yourself racing through the pages of the novel to discover each new reveal, but it will still keep you guessing until the end. Davena and Tevish are appealing and equally matched. However, they are on opposite sides of a battle that neither can win. They share a genuine relationship as they fall in love and struggle to be together. Other characters are varied and well-thought out. I loved the child Fion and her puppy, which seemed to grow up along with her on each page. I also liked one of the more vile characters, Simon, who was notable because he actually became more sympathetic without being fully redeemed as the novel progressed. I would like to recommend this book. You will enjoy it!Product details

Davy Last Ride edition by Brit Darby Fela Dawson Scott Patricia McAllister Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and exciting. I read it in a day because I couldn't put it down.
Another fascinating, well-told story from the writing team of Patricia McAllister and Fela Dawson Scott, otherwise known as “Brit Darby.” It’s got everything I like in a romance historical detail, exciting scenes well described and a worthy hero and heroine.
Set in the Scottish Marches (that area between Scotland and England that experienced cattle reiving and cross-border raids, it begins in 1604 as young Davena is being married to her childhood sweetheart, Adair Eliott. Hand-fasted a year earlier, they were finally sealing their vows. As they are celebrating, a band of brigands sweeps in to kill many, including Adair.
Eight years later, Davena (now “Davy”) is the mother of a 7-year-old daughter Fiomuala and she and Adair’s brothers have turned outlaw, preying on the rich English lords and living for revenge. Oh yes, and Adair, now a ghost, is ever with Davy keeping her out of trouble.
Major Tevish McBride, the fencing master of Prince Henry Stuart, is sent north to capture the outlaw Davy Eliott, never knowing the outlaw he seeks is a woman. Never anticipating he will be so attracted to her. Tev has mixed feelings about going to the border as it was the place of his birth—the place he’d fled as a boy. Unbeknownst to his comrades in arms, Tev is the second son of Sir Simon Fenwick, a man Tev hates as he does his half brother, Barclay, Baron Blackmuir.
This is a story with many twists and turns and a plot that will keep you turning pages. Darby brings to life the borderlands and the negative feelings the Scots had for the British. Some real historic figures make cameo appearances, including King James himself.
It’s a great read and highly recommended.
Enjoyed this book very much . It holds your attention the whole time you are reading it. Very good book.
Wow, what a great read! Grabbed my interest from the first page and kept me riveted until the end Romance, suspense, adventure, plot twists and turns, I recommend Davy's Last Ride to everyone who likes historical romance!
Fast, fun and fabulous. This book has everything you need to live in the world of desperate villians and Scottish patriots. Davy leads you through the forests of Scotland and the English court. Detailed and historic, this book lets the reader know just what it was like to live as a peasant and a king. I recommend this book to all who want to know love, it's sacrifices and it's rewards. JP
Without a doubt this is the best book written by Brit Darby. I found it difficult to put the book down as one adventure after another held my interest and suspense. I spent most of my day just sitting and reading and feel it was worth it. Keep on giving us more of Davey's life. It is time for a sequel to this book.
Very good story line, good plot twists and reasonable romantic angles. A couple of surprises as you read along which makes it better than the average romance novel & this author doesn't drown you in unnecessary sexual encounters so popular these days. A great combination of historical background and real events lend well to the story line.
